We place the pitted dry dates in a large bowl and soak them in 1 litre of full cream milk for the whole night. Drinking the dates helps soften and rehydrate them, making them easier to blend later.
Blending the Dates
The next day, we blended the soaked dry dates into a smooth paste, incorporating the nutritious milk they were soaked in. This luscious date paste will add natural sweetness and a sticky texture to our halwa.
Preparing the Halwa Mixture
Add two litres of whole cream milk and the blended date paste in a heavy-bottomed pan. We turn on the flame and set it to medium heat, allowing the mixture to simmer. As the halwa mixture thickens, it will reduce, concentrating the flavours and achieving the desired consistency.
Ghee and Nuts: The Indulgent Touch

Ingredients
- 350 g Dry Dates
- 3 l Full Cream Milk
- 4 tbsp Dasi Ghee
- 1/4 cup Allmonds
- 1/4 cup Walnuts
Instructions
- Remove the seeds from dry dates and wash thoroly .
- In a large bowl soak pitted dates in 1 litter milk for whole night
- Blend the dates and set aside.
- In a heavy bottom, pan add two liter milk and blended dates.
- Turn on the flame, keeping the flame on medium, simmer till the halwa mixture starts to thicken and reduces more.
- keep stirring until the milk completely evaporate.
- Add dry fruits and ghee.
- You can add your choice of nuts and dry fruits. I have added almonds and walnuts.(Chop the nuts before you add)
- Simmer till the whole halwa mixture becomes dry.
- When you can see some ghee being released from the sides, it means halwa is ready.
- Serve halwa warm with tea.
